PTAD Pays N3.9bn Arrears To Over 91,000 Pensioners Under Defined Benefit Scheme
The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has completed the disbursement of N3.9 billion in arrears to 91,146 eligible pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
PTAD’s Executive Secretary, Tolulope A. Odunaiya, said the payment is in line with the N32,000 pension increment approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued by Olugbenga Ajayi, Head of Corporate Communications, the agency disclosed that N1.9 billion was paid to 59,865 pensioners under the Parastatals Pension Department.
A further breakdown shows that N830 million was released to 12,976 pensioners in the Civil Service Pension Department, N620 million to 9,689 pensioners under the Police Pension Department, and N551 million to 8,616 pensioners in the Customs, Immigration, and Prisons Pension Department.
Odunaiya reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to clearing outstanding arrears and improving the welfare of pensioners in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
