JAMB Sets November 30 Final Deadline For 2021–2025 Outstanding Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set November 30, 2026, as the final deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises to either accept or reject the offers.
The Board said all outstanding admission offers from the affected years that are neither accepted nor rejected by the deadline will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status in its records.
The extension follows the temporary unavailability of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for about 96 hours, which prompted the Board to give affected candidates additional time to update their admission records.
In a statement by the Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it had earlier extended the deadline from the previous date of September 30, 2026, but approved November 30 as the final deadline following the disruption to the CAPS platform.
The Board warned that candidates who fail to act by the new deadline will no longer be permitted to accept or reject the outstanding offers within the current window. Any subsequent request to update an admission record relating to the previous admission years will attract the applicable penalty fee.
JAMB urged all affected candidates to take immediate action, particularly those whose admissions are not reflected on the matriculation list.
According to the Board, failure to properly document an admission could affect access to certain benefits associated with valid admissions, including participation in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
Candidates who accept their outstanding offers will be able to proceed to print their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted”, allowing JAMB to update its national admission records.
The Board also clarified that candidates who are no longer studying at the institutions where they received previous admission offers, or who are currently pursuing different programmes, may accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion of the previous admission, where applicable.
Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but who still have an unaccepted admission offer from an earlier admission exercise may reject the outstanding offer and continue with their current programme.
JAMB further reassured candidates admitted in the 2026 admission exercise that rejecting an outstanding admission from a previous year will not affect their 2026 admission.
The Board said the extension was designed not only to compensate for the period during which CAPS was unavailable but also to ensure that its national admission database remains accurate and up to date.
JAMB reiterated that November 30, 2026, is the final deadline for accepting or rejecting outstanding admissions from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises and advised all affected candidates to act before the deadline.
