The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has introduced a new system allowing candidates to upload and verify their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes.
The Board says the initiative is designed to make the process faster, safer and more convenient, while reducing candidates’ need to visit Computer Based Test centres.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ results directly with the examination bodies that conducted the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, beginning with the West African Examinations Council, WAEC.
The Board in a statement by Dr Fabian Benjamin, Acting Director Public Affairs and Protocol says the system will also reduce errors and challenges associated with manual result uploads, including misplaced documents, incorrect entry of subjects and grades, and the presentation of fraudulent or unverified results.
JAMB explained that candidates will first obtain a verification code by providing their examination details and paying for the result verification service.
After verification, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their verification code to 55019 or 66019.
For candidates with two examination sittings, the verified results will be displayed on their JAMB e-Facility profiles, where they can select the required subjects and submit their O’Level results.
Candidates must select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects, with no subject selected more than once.
JAMB says the new system integrates its e-Facility platform with examination bodies, allowing results to be checked directly against official records before being uploaded to candidates’ profiles.
The Board says the verification service will provide a convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.
The initiative is part of JAMB’s renewed drive to provide technology driven and candidate friendly services.
The Board urged candidates to make use of the new system, saying it will continue to deploy technology to simplify, secure and improve access to its services.
