Residents of Ijebu-Ode and its environs will experience a three hour power outage on Friday, September 18, 2026, due to scheduled maintenance on a major electricity transmission line.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said its maintenance crew will carry out the Annual Preventive Maintenance of the Sagamu/Ijebu-Ode 132kV transmission line between 10am and 1pm.
According to TCN, the maintenance work will prevent the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) from off taking electricity for distribution to customers in Ijebu-Ode and surrounding areas during the period.
TCN, in a statement, apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause.
The company said the exercise is part of its routine preventive maintenance programme aimed at ensuring the reliability of the transmission network.
