The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended personnel deployed for the ongoing Eid el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations for their dedication, professionalism and outstanding performance across the country.

The commendation followed reports from supervisory teams deployed from the Corps’ National Headquarters to monitor the nationwide special operations.

In a statement issued by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the Corps Marshal said the commitment and gallantry displayed by personnel had contributed significantly to safer highways and improved traffic flow during the festive period.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct and operational efficiency of officers and men on duty and urged them to sustain the momentum throughout the duration of the exercise.

According to him, the successes recorded so far have been driven by the dedication of FRSC personnel and the cooperation of members of the motoring public.

Mohammed appealed to road users to continue supporting the Corps by complying with traffic regulations and adhering to all road safety advisories issued during the festive season.

While reviewing the progress of the operations nationwide, he expressed confidence in the capacity of personnel to sustain the gains already achieved.

However, he raised concerns over the continued violation of traffic regulations by some motorists.

The Corps Marshal specifically warned against speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading, the use of mobile phones while driving and other traffic offences, noting that such violations remain major causes of road crashes.

He urged motorists to exercise patience, maintain discipline on the highways and comply with established traffic rules, stressing that road safety is a shared responsibility.

Mohammed reassured Nigerians of the Corps’ commitment to ensuring a safe and hitch free post Eid el-Kabir celebration through sustained enforcement, public enlightenment campaigns, traffic management and prompt rescue services on the nation’s highways.
