Community Leader Suleiman Abubakar Receives Zazzau Emirate Traditional Title, Pledges Continued Service​

The Zazzau Emirate Council has conferred the traditional title of Garkowan Ungwan Dosa on philanthropist and community leader Suleiman Abubakar, in recognition of his contributions to humanitarian service, youth empowerment, and community development.
​The turbanning ceremony, which took place at the palace of the Hakim Mikao in Kaduna, was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, family members, and well-wishers from across Nigeria and abroad.
​Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Abubakar expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing the honor as both humbling and a call to greater service. He noted that community development is a long-standing tradition within his family and pledged to redouble his efforts.
​”With great power comes a lot of responsibilities,” Abubakar said. “Being there and doing for the community is not something new to us. It’s something that has been happening in this house since before I was born. But with this, I will try to see how I’m going to up my game to do better and to do more, Inshallah.”
​Attendees at the event praised Abubakar’s impact on the area, noting that he has significantly elevated the profile of the Nkwendoza community and fostered unity between it and neighboring areas.
​Guests and community members offered prayers for his continued health and strength, describing the official title as a formal validation of his lifelong dedication to philanthropy.
​”He is a born leader and a philosophical king,” one attendee remarked, noting that Abubakar has contributed immensely to the community over time. “This is just an icing on the cake. Now with the turbanning and with the title, it means that he is now legally bound to do extra.”
