The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), has pledged total dedication to his new role as Secretary I of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, while reaffirming that national security remains his foremost responsibility.

General Musa expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the appointment, describing the confidence reposed in him as a call to higher service.

He assured the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters of his commitment to carrying out the responsibilities of the office with diligence, administrative discipline and focus aimed at ensuring electoral success for the party.

In a statement issued by the Special Assistant Media to the Minister of Defence, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the minister said his acceptance of the campaign role would not diminish his commitment to the constitutional responsibility of safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

According to him, ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector will continue without interruption and with renewed vigour.

“National security remains our highest imperative,” Musa said, assuring Nigerians that the Ministry of Defence would remain resolute in supporting the President’s vision of a safe and prosperous country.

The minister also called on APC members and Nigerians to remain united in support of the administration, expressing confidence that the ruling party would record success in future elections while sustaining governance and security efforts nationwide.
