The Nigeria Police Force has announced the dismantling of a sophisticated transnational human trafficking syndicate and the arrest of a kidnapping gang involving a man and his grandson accused of abducting their own family patriarch.
Speaking during a press briefing at the FID-IRT Headquarters, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, disclosed major breakthroughs recorded in the fight against organised crime under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu.
According to the police, the transnational trafficking syndicate, allegedly led by one Abdul Ngaki, specialised in luring vulnerable youths from Mali and Gabon with false promises of lucrative jobs in Nigeria or illegal passage to Spain.
DCP Placid further revealed that operatives also uncovered a disturbing case of domestic betrayal involving the repeated kidnapping of Alhaji Rabo Jelani by his biological grandson, Yusuf Rabo, and one Musa Adamu.
