A non-governmental organisation, Eat Right Society, has marked its 10th anniversary with the commissioning of a four classroom block, the launch of a commemorative book, and educational and health interventions for schoolchildren in Abuja.
The celebration, which coincided with the 2026 Children’s Day, took place at LEA Primary School, Alugu-Lungu, Gwarinpa II.
Speaking at the event, Executive Director of Eat Right Society, Dr. Funmilayo Morebise, described the classroom project as a symbol of dignity, opportunity and hope for children.
She said the Children’s Day Special Programme, launched in 2015, has produced scholars, improved health outcomes and attracted growing support from partners and stakeholders.
Morebise further disclosed that the classroom block was constructed in partnership with Build-A-School Initiative Africa, BASIA, as part of efforts to provide a more conducive learning environment for pupils.
Meanwhile the Founder of Build-A-School Initiative Africa, Dr. Victor Ukorebi, described the project as a strategic investment in the future of Nigerian children, stressing that quality education begins with access to safe and secure learning spaces
Other speakers on their part commended the intervention, describing it as a timely response to the educational needs of the area and a boost to teaching and learning.
A major highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of a commemorative book titled “Eat Right Society @10: Legacy of a Giant Stride,” documenting the organisation’s achievements and impact over the past decade.
The event also featured educational and health activities for pupils, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to child development and community growth.
