After the sack of the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole in 2020, the ruling APC was engulfed in a leadership crisis leading to a prolonged absence of elected National Working Committee Members.
Haven resolved the crisis that shook the foundation of the APC for almost two years, the party officials, supporters converged on the Eagle Square in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for their national convention.
In spite of the fact that some of the chairmanship aspirants have agreed to step down to allow the wishes of the party prevail on having a consensus candidate, a Presidential Aspirant under the party, Garba Adamu however faulted the arrangement.
However, other APC Stakeholders commended the national convention describing the consensus arrangements that may see the emergence of the former Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Adamu as the APC National Chairman as a welcome development.
The national convention commenced with the usual side attractions, drum beating and dancing from different troupes that added colour and excitement to the event.
As part of measures to have a smooth convention, a combined Security operatives positioned themselves in and around the venue, although they have a hectic challenge controlling the mammoth crowds that visited the Eagle Square.
