Lawyers representing aggrieved directors in the ongoing processes for the selection of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service have filed contempt of court proceedings against the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan at the National Industrial Court in Abuja.
The plaintiffs counsel, Bemdoo Hassan said the action became necessary in view of the refusal of the Head of Service and the Integrated Personnel Payroll and Information System (IPPIS) Consultant to comply with earlier court orders to open the IPPIS Portal for participating directors to update their records as well as participate in the ongoing processes for the selection of Permanent Secretaries.
Speaking shortly after filing the content charges, lawyer to the aggrieved directors said the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice would be notified in order for him to accordingly brief President Muhammadu Buhari.
It could be recalled that previous court orders against the defendant have been ignored prompting the plaintiffs to return to court to file the contempt charges against the Head of Service.
