The federal government has launched the Service delivery,Communications, Accountability, Logistics, Electronic reporting and Supportive supervision strategy SCALES as part of agenda to achieve faster results in the ongoing Covid 19 Vaccination across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister of health, Dr Osagie Ehinare said the initiative was coming at a time when there is still more work to be done to achieve herd immunity irrespective of the number of persons that have been so far administered with the COVID-19 vaccine.
The SCALES Strategy the minister said has proven to be effective in ramping up Covid 19 Vaccination coverage especially as most Nigerians lost interest to return for a second dose due to the effect of adverse event following immunization after the first jab.
He was quick to add that the exercise would be enforced with the use of the Johnson to Johnson single dose vaccine.
Earlier, the Executive Director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency Dr Faisal Shuaib expressed optimism that the initiative will increase coverage for Covid 19 Vaccination.
Indications from the NPHCDA suggests that Nigeria has so far administered covid 19 vaccine to about 20 million persons from the over 111million eligible population targeted for the Vaccination exercise. End.
