Adulterated Fuel: Group Wants Marketers Prosecuted.

As the blame game over the importation of adulterated Premium motor spirit (PMS) continues,a Coalition of civil society organizations has exonnorated the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC of any wrongdoing. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Convener of Nigeria First, Richard Augustine noted that the complex nature of importing petroleum products into the country requires inputs from various stakeholders with authority of the NNPC to liaise with foreign partners and ensure adherence to specifications suitable for the Nigerian market.

This arrangement the group clarified informed the decision to blame the oil marketers as named by the NNPC for the scarcity of fuel across major cities in the country and insisted on their prosecution by relevant security agencies.

This Nigeria and it’s collaborators further explained that the present scarcity of PMS should not be attributed to failure of governance by the present administration but on despicable activities of petroleum products marketers in collaboration with their foreign partners to shortchange the country of its hard-earned resources.
