FCT Vaccine Enforcement: January 17 directive Is Sacrosanct- Attah.

The Authorities of the Federal Capital Territory,says there is no going back on the January 17th directive that unvaccinated staff would be barred from accessing their offices. A signed Circular by the Permanent Secretary of the FCTA, Olusade Adesola, issued on the 10th January, 2022, indicated plans to stop workers from accessing their office premises as from January 17th, 2022, if they are unable to show proof of their vaccination or negative COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result done within 72 hours.

As expected, workers are complying by coming out en masse to take their jabs at the vaccination point domiciled within the FCTA premise in other to beat the deadline. However, some of them in a chat with Channel Network Afrique said the decision to take the jab was not due to the enforcement order.

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the FCT Minister, Ikharo Attah says the Ministry is pleased with compliance so far.

Attah further said the FCT Administration is taken measures to ensure residents especially in rural communities have access to vaccination centres within their community. The ministers aide also urged staff of the FCTA to come along with their vaccination cards saying snap shots would not be accepted.

He equally warned that enforcement team would be deployed at the premises of the FCTA and various secretariats from Monday January 17 2022.
