This is an interdenominational Church Service Organised by the Federal Government to mark the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day serves as an avenue for honoring fallen heroes who laid down their lives in service to humanity. Speaking at the ceremony held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo assured of the Federal Governments commitment in ensuring that the welfare of the families of fallen heroes and soldiers remains a priority. Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, the vice president urged Nigerians to be agents of peace and justice in order to truly appreciate the sacrifices made by the heroes. Addressing news men shortly after the ceremony,the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen advocated need for continuous support to families of fallen heroes. On his part,the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor assured of efforts by the armed forces to restore peace and tranquility in the country. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is commemorated annually every January 15th.
