The Nigeria Police Force has assured Nigerians of it’s unwavering determination to ensure a peaceful Christmas and New Year festivities in the country. This is as the force is seeking adequate cooperation from Nigerians in the area of intelligence as it relates to securing the nation. These were the words of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba at the meeting with Strategic Police Managers held at the Force headquarters in Abuja. IGP Baba indicated that the meeting was called to evaluate the performance of the force in 2021 with a view to chat the way forward in the coming year. He urged the officers to brace up with current realities and deal with crimes associated with the end of year season. The meeting further presented opportunity for stock taking with the police boss highlighting various security threats across the country and modalities deployed to address them. The IGP also raised concerns as it relates to professionalism on the part of Police personnel. The police boss listed the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 police Constables,construction of model police stations across the country,election of AIG Garba Umar as Vice President (Africa)of interpol as some of of the major strides of the force in 2021.
