As part of it’s developmental agenda for the Niger Delta region,the federal government has launched it’s strategic implementation work plan for the region. At the Official Presentation and launch of the initiative in Abuja, the minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio said the work plan is expected to guide government interventions as well as enforce best policy options to achieve faster and optional results for peace and prosperity on the oil rich region.
He said the SIWP when implemented will bring to an end the era of payment duplication and multiplication by agencies of government among several other benefits.
Akpabio further inaugurated a committee with mandate to midwife the implementation of the work plan. The committee chaired by the Permanent Secretary, ministry of Niger Delta is also expected among others to initiate ideas aimed at strengthening the operation of the work plan among.
