As the clock tick’s towards the next phase of election cycle, Nigerian women have threatened to speak with one voice, saying they will henceforth support only candidates that have their interest at heart. The resolution was taken at the grand finale of the Nigerian Women Arise for Nigeria (NIWAFON) awareness campaign in Abuja. The women politicians, entrepreneurs, professionals across major sectors, media executives, and ace Nollywood actresses, among others vowed to implement the decision ahead the 2023 General elections. They commended Governor Yahaya Bello for taking the lead in implementing the United Nations resolution on 35 percent affirmative action replicated in the state executive council. This they maintained informed their resolution to join other well meaning Nigerians to call out the Governor to contest the 2023 presidential election. Knowing fully well what lies ahead, the women immediately commenced plans to hit the ground running. Meanwhile, Governor Bello was represented by the Secretary to the Kogi state Government Folashade Ayoade who in her remarks assured the womenfolks of more support in governance. The highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of distinguished Hero of women inclusion Award to Governor Bello.
