The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman Presidential Steering Committee, Boss Mustapha has disclosed plans by the federal government to make COVID-19 Vaccination compulsory for federal employees. Mustapha disclosed this at the Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum meeting in Abuja. He noted that Nigeria has been experiencing an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases but assured that it will be successfully contained due to measures being adopted by government. Earlier, Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Mamora, in his remarks canvassed need for increase funding to the health sector. Also the Commissioner for Health Cross River State, Dr. Betha Edu, who spoke on behalf of the Commissioners Forum, noted that the meeting was convened to chat a way forward in the sector across the respective States. On their part, the US government, World bank, UNICEF and other stakeholders at the meeting, expressed commitment and readiness to help Nigeria improve its health sector.
