Strike Looms As National Council of State Adopts 27,000 Naira As National Minimum Wage
There are indications of a possible industrial dispute between the federal government and the organised labour over the National Council of State adoption of twenty seven thousand naira as new national Minimum wage. The Nigeria Labour Congress in its reaction, rejected the development saying the Council of state has no jurisdiction to determine another minimum wage after the tripartite commitee had submitted it’s report. The National council of state had in its meeting on Tuesday January 22nd at the presidential villa endorsed twenty seven thousand naira as national Minimum wage.
