The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS General Lucky Irabor says Sporting activities are veritable instruments for promoting friendship, diplomacy and peace across the world. Gen Irabor stated this when a delegation from the Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA)visited the Defence headquarters in Abuja. He assured the delegation of the Armed Forces support to ensure a successful hosting of the forth coming Sahel games billed for Abuja from 9th to 19 October 2021. Earlier in his remarks the OSMA president, Brigadier General Abdullahi Maikano who led the delegation from 18 African Countries thanked the CDS for his contributions saying the games will further entrench peaceful coexistence in the region. The highpoint of the visit was investiture of the CDS as the grand patron of OSMA. Representations from Mali, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger, Lybia, Chad, Cameroon and Benin Republic are expected to compete at the games.
