The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)says it will next week publish a comprehensive list of new polling units across the country. INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmud Yakubu disclosed this at the handing over of a new fire engine to the commission by the federal fire service in abuja. Elated Inec boss who said the exercise was accomplished for the first time in 25 years added that details of locations of the Registration Centres and procedure for commencement of online registration will be made available after it’s Consultative meetings with stakeholders. On the gesture by the Federal Fire Service, Prof Yakubu commended the agency saying 21out of 42 attacks on the commission facilities were fire related. Earlier, the representative of the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service DCG Samson Taribu said the intervention is part of the service proactive measure to protect nation’s critical infrastructure. The service further directed it’s state offices to take additional protection measures around INEC facilities nationwide.
