NIS Suspends Fresh Passport Application, Sets Deadline To Clear Backlog
The Nigerian Immigration Service NIS has disclosed plans to clear over 130,000 backlog of both local enhanced and foreign passports before May 31st 2021. It further suspended fresh application of passport nation wide from 17th to 31st May 2021. NIS Comptroller General Muhammad Babandede disclosed this shortly after decorating the service newly promoted senior officers to their new ranks in Abuja. He said special task force have been set to ensure compliance of the directive . Track up The Immigration boss further assured of a new timeframe for passport delivery commencing from June 1st 2021. Track up Eighty seven Immigration officers were decorated which include, thirty Assistant Comptroller General and fifty seven Comptrollers.
