The Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), General Lucky Irabor has called for collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS), Military and other security agencies in Intelligence Sharing.
In a signed statement by the Public Relations Officer, NIS, DCI James Sunday made available to Channel Network Afrique, General Irabor made the call when he visited the NIS Headquarters Technology and Data Processing Centre in Abuja.
The Defence Chief commended the NIS CG Mohammad Babandede for his visionary leadership insisting that the Defence NIS collaboration will further boost security and Military response operations.
In his response, the DCG Isah Idris who received the CDS on behalf of the Comptroller General thanked the CDS for the visit and promised to share relevant Intelligence with the Military and other security services.
“The NIS key infrastructure, the Technology Building has the ability to serve the intelligence need of the country via the Database of Nigerians and Non-Nigerians Biodata and Biometrics harvested in the NIS operational services and stored in the Technology Building, secured data hub linked to all the International Airports,Sea and Land Border frontiers,passport offices and the INTERPOL i-24/7 SLTD platform and the Foreign Missions where NIS officials are posted as Immigration Attaches”.DCG Idris noted.
