Address Rising Insecurity,NLC Tells Buhari

The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC has called on the Federal Government to find lasting solutions to the increasing wave of insecurity in the country. Speaking a news conference on the state of the Nation, NLC president, Comrade Ayuba Wabba who joined the global condemnation of the recent Abduction of students, teachers at the Government Science College Kagara, Niger State by bandits called for a more proactive approach that would ensure timely response to security concerns which he noted are impacting negatively on the nation’s economy. Other issues of national importance including the increase in electricity tariff and deregulation also top the agenda of the briefing. Wabba further condemned the action of some state government over the implementation of the new minimum wage. The labour centre also threatened to resist the violation of right of collective bargaining in some government and private institutions saying the trend is an affront on the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
