An irregular Cameroonian migrant has been intercepted by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service at Ikom, Cross River states.
A signed statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI James Sunday made available St Channel Network Afrique indicates that the Cameroonian was intercepted at the Joint Border Patrol Checkpoint kilometre 8, Border Road Ikom Cross River State on a commercial vehicle during a routine stop and search operation.
“The Service Operatives led by SI Umar Mala were able to identify the migrant by name Sally Kisob, a Female and 65 years of age,as she was suspected to have entered through Efraya Beach in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State” James said
She has been profiled and handed over to the operatives of the NIS at Mfum Border for necessary documentation and repatriation.
The NIS Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede commended the operatives for a job well done as he prepares to tour the state to commission a Forward Operation Base as part of effort to strengthen border patrol along the flanks.
