The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has suspended its 9 months old strike . ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, who gave the indication at a news conference in Abuja said the decision to suspend the industrial action was part of resolution arrived at the National Executive Council Meeting of the Union in Abuja. It however warned against plans to breached the terms of the agreement reached with the federal government. On the reopening of schools amidst upsurge of cases of coronavirus, the Union said the decision solely lies with the federal government. Professor Ogunyemi while appreciating the patience and understanding of student said “no amount of sacrifice would be too much to get the matter resolved as long as the government is consistent with its commitments”.
