North East: Group Faults Amnesty International Report, Says It Is Inciting.
As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 2020 International day of Human Right, a rights group, conference of civil society of Nigeria has raised concerns over a recent report credited to Amnesty International on the north east titled “My heart is in Pain”. The report the Group noted highlighted amongst other humanitarian response, the Nigerian government killing of older person’s, unlawful detention and maltreatment of citizens in the north east by the military. Condemning the report, the group insist that the timing at a time Nigeria is healing from End SARS protest is capable of inciting another wave of violence protest in the Country. They went further to invite amnesty International to an open debate on the credibility of the report. The group however urged the Nigerian Military not to be distracted but remain focus in its operation in the north east while upholding the highest sense of discipline ethics and professionalism.
