Breaking: WAEC Releases 2020 SSCE Results.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2020 Senior school Certificate Examination. Head of the National office, Patrick Areghan who gave the indication in Lagos said 1,538,445 candidates sat for the examination out of the 1,549,740 that registered from 19,129 secondary schools across the country. Areghan said 1,338,348 candidates representing 86.99 per cent obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects – with or without English Language and/or Mathematics. He added that 1,003,668 candidates representing 65.24 per cent obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Further analysis indicates that results of 215,149 candidates, representing 13.98 per cent of the total number of candidates that sat for the examination, are being withheld in connection with various cases of examination malpractice Areghan said the cases are being investigated as the final report will be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council for determination in due course. The West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination was written between August 17th and September 12th, 2020.
