The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Richard Adebayo says the newly assented Companies and Allied Matters Act by President Muhammadu Buhari will go a long way in improving Nigeria’s ranking in the World Bank Easing of Doing Business Index. He disclosed when a delegation from the Corporate Affairs Commission led by the Board Chairman Ademola Seriki paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja. He said the ministry will support the commission in its drive to boost the nation’s post Covid-19 business climate first by preparing a memo to the Federal Executive Council to approve intending regulations which will become part of the processes to reposition CAC. Chairman CAC Board, Ademola Seriki who lauded the Minister for the great feet said Nigerians will see a friendly business in the area of Commerce and Industry as well as the Financial Capital Market. The Registrar General, Garba Abubakar, said henceforth only qualified Companies would be allowed to engage in public procurement in the country. To achieve this, Mr. Abubakar said the commission will introduce letters of good standing as part of requirements for public procurements to check abuses. The Minister of State, Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, Mariam Katagum and some management staff from the ministry and CAC were in attendance.
