Covid19: NUC Compiles Universities Contribution To National Response
It is of fact that Nigeria just like the rest of the world has been ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic. The situation no doubt has challenged the global knowledge system which has proved inadequate and insufficiently robust enough to respond to the challenges. The development however has transformed into various studies and research for a way out and solution to the pandemic. Nigeria is not left out in this direction inview of initiatives and protocols established to mitigate the spread of covid 19. Addressing a news conference in Abuja on contributions made by the Nigerian Universities,the National Universities Commission says about 32 ivory towers are presently involved in various stages of research against on covid 19. Deputy Executive Secretary of the Commission,Dr Suleiman Ramon-Yusuf also reacted on ways the institutions are responding to home grown remedies to combat the pandemic. He further disclosed that the commission is compiling data to access the readiness of the nation’s universities for a possible resumption for academic activities amid the covid19 pandemic.
