The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored its 40MVA, TR1 132/33kV transformer at the Kwanar Dangora Transmission Substation in Kano, bringing power supply back to affected 33kV feeders.
The transformer was successfully restored at 5:02pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026, following the replacement of a faulty 170kVA earthing transformer that had caused the outage.
According to TCN, the replacement work was completed alongside the necessary technical checks, after which the 40MVA transformer was successfully energised, restoring transmission supply to the affected feeders.
The development is expected to restore normal electricity supply to customers of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) served by the affected feeders.
TCN thanked affected customers for their patience and understanding during the outage and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
