Nigeria Weight and Measures Capable Of Generating N5b Annually – Department

KiOver the years, the Nigeria’s weight and measures department has been bedeviled with numerous challenges that impede its revenue generation ability due to neglect by successive administrations. Some of the bottle necks are, obsolete and outdated legislation, lack of qualified manpower, poor or shortage of operational and laboratory equipment among other factors. But the narrative is gradually changing with the recent recruitment and world class training of over one hundred and fifty inspection officers. Some outstanding newly recruited officers were presented with certificates of excellence. Natural Sound The Ministers of Industry, Trade and Investment, Adebayo Adeniyi and Mariam Katagum earlier, commissioned some operational vehicles and rehabilitated laboratories for weight and measures department.
