Germany-Based Chief Muritala Awolola Joins Kwara South Senatorial Contest
Chief Muritala Awolola, a Germany-based Nigerian politician, has officially joined the race for the Kwara South Senatorial District seat.
Awolola formalized his bid by submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Addressing the press following the submission, Awolola expressed confidence in his ability to clinch the party’s ticket.
He framed his candidacy as a movement for Nigerians in the diaspora to take an active role in domestic national development.
”I am a Nigerian in the diaspora, based in Germany, and I am contesting under the APC,” Awolola said.
“By the grace of God, I believe I will win the ticket so we can move Nigeria forward.”
Security Reform Agenda
Awolola identified national security as the cornerstone of his legislative agenda.
He proposed leveraging his international ties to facilitate a strategic partnership between Nigeria and Germany, specifically focusing on law enforcement.
”Germany has a strong policing system,” Awolola noted. “I intend to facilitate cooperation, training, and exchange between Nigerian security agencies and German institutions.”
Beyond international cooperation, the aspirant emphasized a grassroots approach to stability.
He called for enhanced collaboration between the Nigerian Armed Forces, traditional rulers, and local security networks to combat the rising tide of banditry and general insecurity within Kwara South and the country at large.
Support for the Administration
The aspirant concluded by urging his constituents to back his bid, promising that his tenure would focus on infrastructure development and regional safety.
He also reaffirmed his support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that his legislative goals align with the federal government’s developmental objectives.
