The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful migration of all telecommunications operators to its upgraded National Identification Number (NIN) verification platform, NINAuth.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, described the development as a major milestone in enhancing the security, efficiency, and overall user experience of NIN verification services.

“The NINAuth platform, developed and implemented by NIMC, provides a seamless, secure, and user-friendly means for Nigerians to verify their identities,” Adegoke said. “This migration ensures that telecom providers can now offer uninterrupted verification services to their subscribers.”

He further emphasized that the move is part of NIMC’s broader efforts to empower Nigerians with control over their personal identity data. The NINAuth system supports secure data protection, streamlined authentication, and easy access to digital services.

Also commenting on the development, NIMC’s Director of IT/IDD, Engr. Lanre Yusuf, confirmed that all telecom operators have been fully migrated to the platform and that NIN verification services are now running without disruption.

The Commission assured the public that all verification and authentication platforms are fully functional and accessible. However, any challenges related to NIN-linked services including new SIM registration, SIM swaps, SIM migration, or SIM retrieval should be reported directly to the respective telecom operators for prompt resolution.

“With this milestone, NIMC continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering secure, efficient, and citizen-centric digital identity services to all Nigerians,” Adegoke added.
