FG Issues Directives To Reduce Out Of School Children.

The Federal Government has again reassured commitment towards enhancing the delivery of quality basic education across the country.

Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, who gave the indication at a three-day meeting of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) management with executive chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja, expressed the determination of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to transform education.

Represented by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA), Dr. Ismaila Adiatu, the minister directed all stakeholders in the basic education sub-sector to work towards returning children back to the classroom.

Speaking on the importance of the workshop, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Aisha Garba, said it is aimed at complementing existing efforts targeted at ensuring every Nigerian child has access to quality basic education.

Meanwhile, the dean of SUBEB chairman Prof Adaramaja Shehu in his remarks, expressed confidence that the meeting would strategies on improving the effectiveness of schools and uphold best practices to boost learning outcomes.

The theme of the 3-day conference is “Strengthening Collaboration for Quality Basic Education Delivery in Nigeria.”
