COAS Pledges To Deal With Yobe’s Security Challenges, Assures Troops Of Enhance Welfare

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General, Olufemi Oluyede has assured the Yobe State Government of Nigerian Army’s commitment to deal with security challenges in the state.

He made the promise at a visit to Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu, Yobe State during his ongoing operational tour of the Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Hadin Kai.

According to a statement signed by the Director, Army Public Relations, Major General, Onyema Nwachukwu, and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA, General Oluyede intimated the Governor that he would ensure that troops are provided with necessary support to carry out their task of securing the state.

The COAS appreciated the Government and the people of Yobe State for their support to the troops.

Responding, Governor, Mai Mala Buni called for concerted effort to decisively deal with the security situation in the state.

He pledged his continuous support to the troops to facilitate the attainment of their objectives.

The Governor seized the opportunity to pray for the repose of the souls of the troops who paid the supreme price for the restoration of peace in the state.

In an address to troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai, earlier, the General Oluyede commended the troops for their doggedness and resilience in the face of the adversity.

He urged them not to relent until the adversaries of the nation are brought to their knees and guaranteed his unflinching support to enhance their welfare and operational effectiveness.

He further charged the troops to remain committed while he strives to provide kitting, adequate combat enablers and improved accommodation for them and their families.

The COAS also assured of his continued support to enable them to carry out their tasks professionally.

While at the Theatre Command, the Chief of Army Staff received briefs on ongoing operations and commended the officers and soldiers for their efforts, urging them to do more.
