Federal Government has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies to stay focus and stop meddling into schedules off their mandates.
Director General, Budget Office of the Federation, Tanimu Yakubu gave the warning in Abuja at a two-day workshop for MDAs to understand the use of Government Integrated Financial Management Information System Budget Preparation Sub-System for the 2025 appropriation.
Mr. Tanimu who urged the participants to ensure that their executive budget proposals must be coherent and purpose-driven said the quality of Nigeria’s budget has been a longstanding concern, with stakeholders questioning its relevance, execution, and effectiveness. He said the training represents a crucial step in addressing the concerns as well as ensuring that the 2025 budget aligns with the expectations of the Nigerian people.
The DG Budget however, noted that emphasis would be placed this year on one of the modules, key items and sections to reflect in the 2025 Federal Government’s Budget Call Circular.
