Blame High Suicide Rate On Hardship In Nigeria – Senate
Concern over the increasing rate of suicide particularly among youths in Nigeria formed the major point of discuss at plenary in the senate. Former Abia state Governor and senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District in a motion raised at the floor of the red chamber attributed the increasing cases of suicide to depression, stress, poverty, feelings of rejection and low self esteem. He called for establishment of trauma centers as part of strategy to check the trend which is fast assuming a worrisome development in Nigeria.
