Investment Tribunal Solicits More Collaboration From Institutions In Capital Market.
The Chairman, Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST) Amos Azi says only three Institutions in the Nigerian Capital Market currently supports the Tribunal.
He disclosed this in Abuja when Executives of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) paid him a courtesy visit.
In a statement signed by the head of media Maria Anodere and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA, the IST boss said the Tribunal is an Institution that should be protected, supported and showcased due to the critical role it plays in boosting investor confidence in the Nigerian Capital Market as well as how it works for everyone’s interest.
The IST Chairman further said since its inception, no judgment has been overturned on the ground of wrong evaluation of facts, noting that anyone with or without a lawyer can approach the Tribunal for help as it relates to infractions in the Nigerian Capital Market.
He however, called on institutions in the Capital Market to support the Tribunal as IST is the major infrastructure that boosts investor confidence in the Nigerian Capital Market.
On his part, the President, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Oluropo Dada said the CIS is willing to collaborate with IST on both local and foreign trainings for staff as a nominating body on the board of the Tribunal.
He noted that the visit was to introduce its new Executives to the hierarchy of the Tribunal as well as to bring it to a symbiotic relationship with the institution.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a book written by the Institution entitled ‘History of the Nigerian Capital Market to the IST Chairman.
