Labour Records Huge Success As Strike Cripples Activities In FCT
The Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) nationwide indefinite strike could be adjourned to be a huge success as there was total compliance by workers in the nation’s capital.
The industrial action resulted as a result of stalemate in the negotiations process between the Federal Government and the organised labour on the amount to be paid as workers’ minimum or living rate.
Channel Network Afrique, CNA, visited some government facilities across the Federal Capital Territory to assess the level of compliance to the Nigeria Labour Congress,’ directives and that of the Trade Union Congress, to workers to down tools. Some workers beared their minds on the ongoing strike.
They also spoke on the trade union’s four hundred and ninety four thousand naira living wages demand.
The workers however, urged the federal government to address the root cause of the impasse for the overall benefit of the country.
