On the 6th of June, the broadcasting license of DAAR communications owner of AIT and RAYPOWER FM was suspended by the Nigeria’s National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, on the grounds of unbalanced reporting of national issues among other infractions. The action led to a widespread criticism of the regulatory body from within and outside the country, stakeholders in the broadcast industry and sympathisers calling for a quick resolution of the face-off. The NBC as a responsible agency however, let DAAR Communications off the hook by restoring its operational license.
