As a result of complaint by some aggrieved Nigerians over a discriminatory policy implemented by a Chinese Supermarket restricting entry only to its citizens for shopping has been sealed by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
The action was carried out in a swift operation by the commission after interrogating Nigerian workers at the Chinese supermarket situated at the China General Chamber of Commerce along Airport road in Abuja.
Speaking, the facility Manager, Shaibu Sanusi explained that Nigerians from outside the complex are barred from shopping in the supermarket.
The Director of Surveillance and Investigations, FCCPC, Boladale Adeyinka shades more light on why the raid was necessary.
While the supermarket remains sealed, FCCPC has vowed not to relent on its efforts to sanitise the economy from anti competition activities and other related vices.
