Customs Generates N1.3Trn In Q1 2024.

The Nigeria Customs Service says it generated one trillion, three hundred and forty seven billion, six hundred and seventy five million, six hundred and eight thousand, nine hundred and seventy two naira, seventy five Kobo in the first quarter of 2024.

Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi disclose this a news conference on Nigeria Customs Service 2024 first quarter performance in Abuja.

The custom boss who said the revenue represents a substantial increase of 122.35% compared to the same period last year, noted that it is an indication by the service to meet it’s annual revenue target of NGN 5.07 trillion.

Adeniyi also highlighted other key performance of the service in the first quarter including its efforts to suppress smuggling, a feat resulting to about 572 seizures valued at over 10 billion naira.

The Custom Comptroller General further applauded various initiatives of the federal government to boost the operations of the service and called on its stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity.

Adeniyi who noted that service under his leadership will continue to rollout initiatives aimed at easing port operations, warned against attacks on it’s personnel by unscrupulous elements.
