The Inter- Party Advisory Council IPAC has unveiled a 4 year strategic plan aimed at strengthening democratic governance in Nigeria.
IPAC Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle in his remarks at the occasion said the strategic plan of action will provide a direction for the council’s present and future activities and in achieving its vision and objectives as the umbrella body of all the registered political parties in Nigeria.
Dantalle who is also the National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement expressed optimism that the initiative will enforce a spiral effect in the nation’s democratic space especially as citizens are faced with hard times and disillusioned over economic stagnation, insecurity and lack of confidence in government at all levels.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abass, represented by the majority leader of the House Prof Julius Ihonvbere commended IPAC for the strategic plan and assured of the lower house commitment to a constitutional amendment process that will fortify the foundation of Nigeria’s democracy.
As expected, the ceremony attracted key political stakeholders including former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim who in their remarks thumbs up the new IPAC leadership for the initiative.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the unveiling of the 4 year strategic plan by the representative of the INEC Chairman, National Commissioner Kunle Ajayi.
