The Association of Foreign Relations Professionals of Nigeria, (AFRPN) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his decision to lift sanctions as well as reopen borders with Niger Republic.
AFRPN President, Ambassador, Gani Lawal made this known at a pre-conference media engagement session in Abuja.
He said, Nigeria’s President, as an Elder Statesman took the decision to enhance the existing bilateral relationship between the two neighbouring countries.
He also spoke on the impact of the western countries in the ECOWAS sub-region which is currently being resisted by the crops of young leaders. On the forthcoming 6th annual lectures and conference, Ambassador Lawal said it was designed to interrogate issues of the moment by experienced practitioner as a salutary manifestation of the vision and mission of the association.
The guest lecturer to the conference is the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Hajiya Amina Muhammed while the former Chief of Staff to President, Buhari, Professor, Ibrahim Gambari will be the Chairman of the occasion.
The theme for the 6th annual conference is, Unconstitutional Change of Government and Attainment of AU63 Agenda and UN SDGs: The Case of West Africa and the Sahel Subregion.
