TinubuTo Sign Executive Order To Curb Rising Drug Prices.

President Bola Tinubu will soon sign an executive order to reduce the rising cost of drug prices in the country.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Muhammad Pate disclosed this at the third edition of the ministerial press briefing series initiated by the Ministry of Information in Abuja.

Pate who explained that the executive order is a short-term goal in reducing drug prices, the mid and long term emphasis of government involves the domestication of imported drugs within the next three years, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade.

Pate further disclosed plans by the federal government to inject N50 billion first tranche of the Basic Healthcare Fund with expectations to make services accessible to all Nigerians.

Earlier in his remarks, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the series was initiated to provide a platform for public officials to reel out their achievements and equally apprise Nigerians of the challenges of governance.

The Ministerial press briefing was inaugurated on the 14th of February 2024, to share success story of all sectors, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
