As part of its commitment to good governance and integrity of service, a non-governmental organisation, the Accountability Lab birthed the Integrity Icons Award initiative to encourage hard work and sincerity of service among the populace.
However the 2023 edition of the awards is focused on the nation’s civil service, an indication, the Country Director of Accountability Lab Friday Ode insists is inview of their importance and relevance to the implementation of various programmes and policies of government.
He said 5 person’s were selected in this year’s edition from a process that had 2,500 nominations across the country.
Ode explained that the overall emphasis is to celebrate honest civil servants that demonstrates exemplary integrity and service to the nation.
In her remarks, the National Coordinator Servicom Nigeria, Mrs Nnena Akajemili commended the CSO for keeping faith with the project saying it has helped to promote the principles of hardwork and integrity in the workplace.
Meanwhile, some of the awardees in a chat with news men expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying it will inspire them to commit to more service to the nation.
The high point of the ceremony spiced with lots of side attractions was the presentation of the 2023 Accountability Icons Award to the public servants.
