President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been advised not to dwell on challenges but consolidate on the gains recorded by his predecessor in the area of economic growth and development.
The National Coordinator, APC Leaders Merit Award, Tom Ohikere gave the advice at a news conference in Abuja aimed at unveiling plans for a maiden edition of an award ceremony to honour outstanding members of the party that have distinguished themselves in the service of the nation.
He said due to some teething challenges bedeviling the nation, President Tinubu and his team through the Renewed Hope Agenda has no choice but to correct inherent anomaly in the system for there to be speedy growth.
Mr. Ohikere who itemized the categories of award to include National Commendation Certificate, State Impact Merit Award to be given to past APC governors, Letter of Credence, Grassroots Impact Merit Award, APC Life Time Impact Awards, Post Humour Award among others said the first edition will be dedicated to the founding fathers of the party.
Reacting on if the awardees especially the Governors merit the awards in spite of the numerous challenges affecting their states the coordinator has this to say.
Twelve man planning committee were shortlisted to ensure the success of the event.
