The National Population Commission NPC has commenced preparations for the conduct of the 2023 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey with the training of interviewers from across the country.
At a ceremony to declare open the training exercise in Akwanga, Nassarawa state, Chairman of the Commission, Hon Isa Kwarra described the survey as a beacon of reliable, comprehensive, and actionable data that provides policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders with the insights necessary to make informed decisions.
He urged the participants to pay attention to every details of the training as it is aimed at building their capacity with the necessary tools and knowledge to undertake the task ahead.
Kwarra further linked the NDHS to preparations for the Population and Housing Census.
Over 300 participants from across the 36 states and the federal capital territory are attending the training expected to run for 4 weeks.
